Why is this?

Sometimes we go through traumatic experiences that happen too much, too soon, for our nervous systems to process. And, for those who never knew how to self-soothe, express emotions safely, or manage stress, this all builds up and becomes more difficult to navigate later on in life.

The nervous system struggles to return to a healthy baseline where it feels safe, and the body behaves as though it's under threat - even when it isn't.

In the absence of healthy processing in the moment, the body intelligently creates its own strategies to feel safe: such as the issues noted above.

As adults, these patterns are deeply engrained but no longer serve us and keep us from truly enjoying life. I know how impossible it can feel to break free, because I’ve been there too.

The good news is, there is a way through: by reconnecting with your body and teaching it safety from the inside out.

This is the heart of my work. Through compassionate, body-based practices - combined with gentle Sound Therapy & Reiki - I support women to calm their nervous system, release unprocessed emotions, and finally find peace in the present moment.

The old method is too narrow...

In many cases, a singular route like one specific form of therapy, is no longer a suitable solution for those desiring authentic, long-lasting change.

Traditional approaches that focus only on the mind often overlook the body and nervous system, both of which directly shape our thoughts, behaviours, and the way we relate to the world around us.

Whilst the mind is a vital part of any transformation, true healing goes deeper. By learning to connect with and regulate the emotional body through a trauma-informed, somatic approach, profound and lasting shifts can unfold.

This is why I bring a variety of practices & techniques to all my client sessions, tailored to their unique needs, and offering a more holistic, layered pathway back to themselves.

    Many people have vast knowledge of their cognitive and behavioural processes however they are still not achieving a deeper, more embodied level of change.

  • You're unsure that you can prioritise yourself right now.

  • You feel strongly resistant to working with the body as part of the healing process.

Contraindications:

There are a few circumstances in which I may not be able to offer my Sound & Somatics program to a client.

These are: 

  • If you are currently experiencing an acute mental health crisis or have a history of severe mental health such as bipolar, psychosis or schizophrenia

  • If you have a physical or mental health condition that affects your daily life  

  • If you are less than 3 months pregnant

  • If you have any metal implants, plates or metallic items (other than tooth fillings) in your body

  • If you have a condition that is triggered by sound e.g. seizures – particularly grand mal (tonic-clonic)
