When life feels heavy

There are times when life just feels too much - and the past hangs over you like a dark cloud.

You might feel emotionally numb, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself and others.

You find yourself reaching for anything to escape the present moment: alcohol, drugs, food, scrolling, shopping, overworking, or losing yourself in other people's problems to avoid your own.

Your body oscillates between feeling restless, frozen and exhausted - and is holding a range of tension such as tightness in your chest, a clenched jaw and a feeling that you can never quite catch a full breath.

Talking about it helps a little, but something deeper in you still feels unsettled - and you're stuck in cycles of self-blame because you're repeating the patterns that have been hurting you for decades.

These responses aren't signs that anything is wrong with you. They are intelligent, protective patterns your nervous system developed to help you survive.

The good news is that through Breathwork & Somatic (body-based) practices, you can start to shift these patterns at a cellular level and make way for a new way of being.

This work meets you exactly where you are - helping your body to gently let go, and your sense of self-worth, compassion, joy and possibility to return.

This is not about forcing a release or 'fixing' anything. Together we work in a way that is slow and layered, so that your body can integrate and sustain the changes that take place, session-by-session.

What happens in a session...

Every session has a somatic (body-based) focus - guiding you to move from the thinking mind into the wisdom of your body.

Through somatic awareness practices, you'll learn to notice where tension, holding, and emotional charge lives - and how to create space for your nervous system to soften enough to let go.

Each session includes a process of integration where the body is invited to rest, recalibrate and settle in to a state of restoration.

Every session is guided at your pace. You are always in the driver's seat of your process and nothing is forced. It's a space where your body leads, your unique nervous system is respected, and transformation unfolds gently, naturally, and in a way that feels safe to you.

Why Breathwork?

Somatic Breathwork works directly with your nervous system and your body’s natural ability to regulate, release, and restore.

When we experience stress, overwhelm, or trauma, our breath often becomes shallow, held, or disconnected. Over time, this can create tension, emotional numbness, and a sense of being stuck.

By practicing a pattern of breathing - anything from a relaxed style, to more active, connected breathing, the body is given the chance to soften, move, awaken, and gradually shift deeply held patterns - many of which may have once served you as protection, but no longer support the life you want to live today.

The breath becomes a pathway not only to release what’s been held, but to reclaim your energy, presence, and sense of joy - beyond defenses and survival responses from the past.

This is not about forcing emotional release or reliving past experiences.
It’s about supporting your body to unwind, integrate, and access vitality, freedom, and self-compassion.

These sessions are for you if:

  • You feel anxious, exhausted, or disconnected

  • Your body feels weighed down by stress, grief, and unprocessed emotions

  • You're stuck in survival patterns / addictions that you can't seem to let go of

  • You want a compassionate, nervous-system-led approach

  • You’re ready to stop the self-blame and start a more compassionate relationship with yourself.

This may not be for you if you are looking for a quick-fix or intense emotional release without integration.

WORKing TOGETHER

Following an introductory session (as outlined below), sessions are then offered in blocks of four - allowing you to move beyond surface-level support into a deeper process of nervous system regulation and emotional healing.

The first block will focus on developing a sense of grounding and internal safety. Many people want to rush the process -I get it because I've been there too -... but when you're working with me, building this foundation is the most crucial part of the work.

We then shift into deeper work, exploring and releasing the patterns keeping you stuck in cycles of overwhelm, anxiety, and self-criticism.

Working in this way honours your process and allows space for things to unfold in a way that feels supportive, contained, and sustainable.

The first session is a space to gently explore what you’ve been experiencing - challenges you’ve been facing, any patterns that feel hard to shift and how your nervous system may be responding to life around you.

Together we will build awareness of your unique patterns, including cycles of anxiety, overwhelm, or coping behaviours that no longer feel supportive.

The focus of this first session is not to rush change, but to begin creating a sense of safety in your body.

We will also start to connect with your vision for the following 6-12 months - exploring your desires and reconnecting you to a sense of clarity and possibility.

We will lightly explore somatics within the session, introducing gentle body-based practices to support regulation and awareness.

The session closes with a period of integration using Sound and/or Reiki, allowing your system to settle, soften, and begin to process what you have begun.

You will leave feeling more connected, supported, and open to what is possible.

Sound Therapy or Reiki (90 minutes)

Sound Therapy or Reiki (90 minutes)

This session begins with a somatic (body-based) coaching check-in to help you arrive in your body, before moving into Sound and Reiki for rest & integration. The combination allows you to connect with yourself on a deeper level, and supports both emotional regulation and energetic recalibration.

Sound Therapy
Using crystal bowls, chimes, and therapeutic percussion, Sound Therapy creates soothing vibrations that guide the body and mind into harmony. These frequencies calm the nervous system, release energetic blockages, and support the body’s natural return to balance and flow.

Reiki
Reiki is a gentle energy healing practice that channels universal life force energy through the body, supporting its innate ability to heal. It can ease emotional tension, restore healthy energy flow, and cultivate a deeper sense of peace and grounding.

Both practices invite stillness, presence, and renewal - a nurturing reset for those who are yearning to slow down, rest and take care of their body and mind.

Conscious Connected Breathwork (90 minutes)

Somatic Breathwork (90 minutes)

A powerful 90-minute session to reconnect with your body, breath, and inner world.  This session invites you on a journey of self-exploration, fully supported and witnessed by Rachel.

Breathwork and/or Conscious Connected Breathwork may be combined with guided movement, vocalisation, intuitive emotional expression, and supportive touch where appropriate - allowing the body to soften and release tension.

Session-by-session as you let go of what you’ve been holding, space is created for greater freedom, empowerment, connection, vitality, and inner peace to emerge.

Available both in person and online - this option is well suited for those new to Breathwork, and/or wishing to deepen their self-connection and capacity to regulate their emotions. The body leads the way, supporting a release without the need to analyse or revisit past experiences.

About Rachel

Rachel Broady is a trauma-informed Breathwork Facilitator, Somatic Practitioner, Sound Therapist & Reiki Master Practitioner.

Having walked a path from complex trauma to healing, she brings not only a wide range of professional training but also the depth of lived experience.

She works with women (35+) who are ready to find more self-compassion, let go of inner criticism, and step out of harmful cycles that once kept them safe but are now no longer serving the life they want to live.

Rachel holds a nurturing, judgment-free space in Berkshire (or via Zoom if preferred), where her clients are invited to show up exactly as they are - without needing to wear a mask or appear to have it all together.

Here they are supported to reconnect with themselves on a deeper, more authentic level, regulate their nervous system, and heal at a pace that honours their unique journey.
